About
We built BellPlan so the school’s operating system stops living in one person’s head.
Every K-12 school we’ve talked to runs the year off a shared Google Sheet, scattered docs, group texts, and tribal knowledge. Standardized testing week is one tab. The spring fundraiser is another. Graduation is a third. The real source of truth lives in three people’s heads.
When one of those people leaves — and one of them always does — the institutional knowledge walks out the door with them. The new front-office hire learns the rhythm of the school year by being surprised by it. We started BellPlan to write that knowledge down once, in a shape the next person inherits.
What we’re building
BellPlan ships a complete operational year out of the box. Hundreds of recurring K-12 events come preloaded with owners, lead times, deadlines, and accountability already wired in — not another blank workspace. You schedule Back-to-School Night and BellPlan generates the 29 subtasks (ordering folders, briefing custodial, scheduling AV, drafting parent comms, locking the cafeteria) and assigns each one to a role, not a name. When the office manager retires, the role survives.
We’re building it the slow way. No AI shortcuts on the parts that matter. No marketplace, no integrations bazaar, no white-label reseller program. One product, focused on the K-12 workflow, opinionated about how it should feel.
Who we are
BellPlan is a small team based in the U.S. We work directly with every school that signs up. If you email support@bellplan.app, a real person reads it.
The honest version
We’re early — there are no customer logos to show you yet. The product works, and we’re still figuring a lot out — pricing, integrations, the order in which to ship the next 20 features. If you’re a school leader who wants to influence what gets built and is comfortable being patient with rough edges, we’d love your school to be one of the first.
What we won’t build
The shape of BellPlan stays narrow on purpose. A few things we’ve already turned down:
- An AI that writes your event plan from a prompt. The plans schools need are specific to the building, the principal, the staff. A generic LLM hallucination is worse than no plan.
- A marketplace of third-party templates. Quality comes from one team curating the templates with real ops directors, not a long-tail of strangers selling you a Google Sheet renamed.
- White-label resellers or district-channel partners. We sell direct to schools and districts. No layer of intermediaries between us and the people running the year.
- Per-user billing or seat math. One school, one number. Add a custodian or a district admin and the price doesn’t move.
- An “all-in-one” tool. We do the K-12 operational layer well. Your SIS, your LMS, your payroll system — those keep doing what they do.
We’re early, U.S.-based, and every email reaches a real person.
